Introduction
The SOUNDPEATS Clip1 were provided by the company for my review – and I thank them for that. Launching on November 12, 2025, they arrive at $69.99 USD, positioning themselves as the “third choice” in wireless audio — neither traditional in-ear TWS nor bone conduction.

When I first put the SOUNDPEATS Clip1 into my ears (while setting up the free companion app), I was wondering how much Bluetooth sound you get for about seventy dollars these days. Quickly did I become fascinated by this new idea of having round “loudspeakers” sitting on top of my ear canals. You don’t have to insert them and you don’t have to fiddle with silicone eartips of different materials, shapes, and sizes. Earlier this year, I reviewed the PearlClip Pro earbuds. While I wasn’t completely convinced by their design, I could still recognise their usefulness and the unique form factor compared to what I had used before. So with the opportunity to try the SOUNDPEATS Clip1, I thought, why not? Let’s see what the big differences are.

Design & Comfort
The SOUNDPEATS Clip1 earbuds take a fresh approach to clip-on design, offering a case that I massively prefer compared to its predecessor. While it may seem cheaper in construction, it aligns well with the aesthetic of other SOUNDPEATS products, making it feel more cohesive within the brand’s lineup. It has a nicer feel, isn’t a fingerprint magnet, and is just better overall. The case is an underrated item for earbuds, and this is what I want to see. It’s more “SOUNDPEATS”, and although it might feel like it’s cheaper, it’s also a much better feel – yes, I’m about textures! Other than some soft-touch cases, like my older Samsung earbuds, this is the kind of case that I love. And the design is lovely, being slightly larger and thicker.

The earbuds themselves feel like they clip onto the ear more securely than the previous model, providing a snug fit that stays in place even during movement. However, this improved grip comes with a trade-off – users may find themselves more aware of the earbuds compared to the PearlClip Pro, which had a slightly more subtle presence. Weirdly, despite actually being lighter, even though they’re bigger, they feel heavier on the ear. Not uncomfortably so, and maybe just because they’re bigger, so you’re more aware of them.

Despite this, the lightweight build ensures they remain comfortable for extended wear. The 5 g per earbud makes them one of the lightest clip-on options available, reducing strain on the ears. The N-Flex Arch™ structure, made from 0.6 mm nickel-titanium alloy, provides a flexible yet stable fit that adapts naturally to different ear shapes. You never feel like you’ll snap them when putting them on your ears. Their open-ear form allows for natural airflow, particularly during workouts or in warmer environments. They provide a secure fit that stays in place during movement. Whether running, cycling, or just walking through a busy day, the Clip1 maintains its position without needing frequent adjustments.
Sound Playback
Upon first listening, the sound struck me as being rich and bassy, lots of mid-bass, not the fastest, thick and somewhat dry. A very solid foundation that works very well outside the house masking ambient noise. The 12 mm dual-magnet dynamic driver with titanium PVD coating creates a stronger magnetic field that drives the diaphragm with greater precision, reducing distortion while delivering powerful, detailed sound and a wide soundstage.

Voices could be richer but they are nicely etched out and also well separated from the mid-bass. This results in good note definition and midrange resolution with great separation and instrument placement. Stage is not very wide but really tall from sparkle introduced by the treble. The punchy bass adds some depth.
The DynamicEQ™ Pro algorithm adjusts in real time, optimising the tonal balance for every track. LDAC and Hi-Res Audio certification lift the clarity beyond what you expect from open-ear earbuds, while Dolby Audio mode adds cinematic width and presence. Though the bass remains dominant, the mids are somewhat back whereas the treble is reasonably forward and quite well defined – a classic U-shaped frequency response.
While the open-ear design is great for maintaining awareness of surroundings, in busy areas external noise can occasionally interfere with the listening experience. When using these indoors, however, the playback is excellent. I used them at work for a bit and could keep the volume rather low whilst still hearing everything clearly, whilst being aware of surrounding noise, like if my desk phone rings or someone wants to ask me a question.
App & Features
For the Clip1, SOUNDPEATS uses the PeatsAudio app again. It’s the same one from the PearlClip Pro, but this time it actually feels more stable. Connecting takes a few seconds; sometimes the app waits for the earbuds to “wake up”, but once it recognises them, everything works as expected.

Inside the app you can turn LDAC, DynamicEQ, and Dolby Audio on or off. You can also set custom EQ, change button actions, and update firmware. I like how everything stays saved – you don’t need to repeat the setup every time. It’s simple and functional.
The new touch zones make a big difference. Each earbud has three points – the logo, driver, and stem – and they register taps much better than older models. No ghost touches, no random skips. It’s a small improvement that adds up in daily use.
Battery & Charging
Battery life is about eight hours, with forty hours total from the case. During the week I tested them, I charged the case only once. Quick charge gives roughly two hours of music from ten minutes, which saved me a few times when I forgot to plug them in overnight.

Charging is done through USB-C, and both earbuds and case charge quickly. Everything matches the specs exactly – one hour for earbuds, two for the case. The indicator light on the front is clear, so you always know how much battery is left.
Everyday Use
I wore the Clip1 for almost everything – editing, cycling, walking, answering calls – and they never felt heavy or awkward. The AutoSense feature that flips left and right channels automatically works perfectly. It doesn’t matter which ear you clip first, it just adjusts.
Dual connection also works as advertised. I kept them connected to my phone and laptop; switching between music and calls happened smoothly. If you turn on LDAC, that feature turns off, but that’s a known trade-off.
Calls are fine. The AeroVoice™ system helps outdoors – it cuts wind noise better than the older POP Clip. Voices sound clean enough, even with traffic in the background. Game Mode also does what it should; I didn’t notice delay while watching YouTube or Netflix.

Conclusion
After a full week of use, I can say the SOUNDPEATS Clip1 is the most complete version of this design so far. It keeps the freedom of open-ear audio but adds real sound quality and polish. The comfort is excellent, the sound is full, and the app finally feels reliable.

At $69.99 it’s easy to recommend. The Clip1 isn’t trying to beat sealed earbuds in bass or isolation – it’s about balance and comfort, and it does that well.
For people who spend long hours wearing audio gear, or who need awareness on the street, this is the one to look at. SOUNDPEATS managed to fix the small things that mattered and left out everything unnecessary. That’s what makes the Clip1 work so well.
